| What Does Surah Ash-Sharh Teach Us About Peace of Heart
?
What Does Surah Ash-Sharh Teach Us About Peace of Heart?
Surah Ash-Sharh is one of the short but deeply meaningful chapters of the Quran. It carries beautiful messages about Allah’s blessings, hope, patience, and trust in His mercy. The surah reminds believers that difficulties do not last forever and that ease comes with hardship.
Allah says:
“Have We not uplifted your heart for you, relieved you of the burden which weighed so heavily on your back, and elevated your renown for you?”
These verses remind us of the great blessings Allah granted to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, including comfort for his heart, relief from burdens, and the honor of having his name remembered.
One of the most comforting messages in this surah is:
“So, surely with hardship comes ease. Surely with hardship comes ease.”
The repetition of this verse gives the believer a powerful reminder: hardship is not the end of the story. Allah’s mercy and relief can come alongside difficult moments. A Muslim should therefore never lose hope in Allah.
Surah Ash-Sharh also teaches us that after completing one task, we should continue striving in what is beneficial and turn our hearts toward Allah.
Allah says:
“So when you have finished your duties, strive hard, and turn to your Lord with longing.”
This teaches us that true peace does not mean giving up on our responsibilities. Rather, it means continuing to do good while relying upon Allah and seeking His help.
Lessons We Can Learn from Surah Ash-Sharh
Surah Ash-Sharh teaches us to recognize Allah’s blessings, remain hopeful during difficult times, and continue working toward what is good.
It also reminds us that the believer should keep a strong connection with Allah through prayer, Quran, remembrance, and sincere supplication.
