A Simple Dhikr with a Great Reward: Subhan Allah wa Bihamdihi

A Simple Dhikr with a Great Reward: Subhan Allah wa Bihamdihi

Some forms of dhikr are very short and easy to say, yet they carry great virtue.

One of these beautiful phrases is:

Subhan Allah wa bihamdihi

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:

“Whoever says, ‘Subhan Allah wa bihamdihi’ one hundred times a day, his sins will be removed, even if they were like the foam of the sea.”

This narration is recorded in Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith 6405.

Why Is This Dhikr So Special?

A person can say this dhikr during many ordinary moments of the day: while walking, waiting, resting, or during free time.

It does not require a long period of time.

The words are simple, but remembering Allah can bring the heart back to what truly matters.

What Should We Say?

Subhan Allah wa bihamdihi

These words combine glorifying Allah and praising Him.

The Prophet ﷺ also described these words as light on the tongue, heavy on the scale, and beloved to the Most Merciful.

Make It Part of Your Daily Routine

Try to make dhikr part of your daily routine.

You can aim to say “Subhan Allah wa bihamdihi” one hundred times during the day.

A narration in Sahih Muslim also mentions saying it one hundred times in the morning and one hundred times in the evening.

Never Underestimate Small Acts of Worship

Sometimes we think that only large acts of worship can make a difference.

But dhikr reminds us that a small act can carry great virtue.

So take advantage of the quiet moments throughout your day.

While walking, waiting, resting, or preparing for sleep, let your tongue remember Allah.

Conclusion

Subhan Allah wa bihamdihi

A few simple words that are easy to remember and easy to repeat.

Let us make the remembrance of Allah part of our daily lives and use the small moments of our day for something beneficial.

A few words on the tongue may become a source of tremendous good in the Hereafter.
